Woodrow Miller

Woodrow Wayne "Woody" Miller was born on September 17, 1954, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Woodward Academy as part of the Class of 1972 and remained a lifelong resident of the Atlanta area, establishing deep roots in the community he served throughout his life. He was a loving father and was deeply adored by his five grandchildren, who brought him great joy in his later years.

Woody built a decades-long career as a respected realtor and home builder in metro Atlanta. He was known for his expertise in residential real estate, marketing and selling homes across neighborhoods from Brookhaven and Buckhead to Decatur. He loved sharing that same knowledge with his children - offering advice on everything from plumbing repairs to patching drywall - always ready with a practical solution and a steady hand. He also believed deeply in civic responsibility, serving as a poll worker during elections and consistently seeking ways to contribute to our democracy.

Woody found joy in life's everyday pleasures. He loved a great meal from Fox Bros BBQ or grabbing a sandwich from Publix - simple comforts that never failed to make him smile. He spent countless hours on video calls with his grandchildren, enduring every silly filter with good humor and endless patience. His friendships stretched up and down the East Coast, and he treasured time spent with friends in places like Olean, NY, Clemson, and his hometown of Atlanta. A voracious reader, Woody had an insatiable appetite for books - especially spy thrillers and thoughtful non-fiction that expanded his understanding of the world.

He was the only son of the late Samuel L. Miller and Doris Parham Miller, who were married for 62 years. He is survived by his three children - Daniel Miller, Eric Miller, and Heather Miller Erakatay - and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Jolinda Miller Collins and Kayanne Miller Burtz, his brother-in-law Mike Burtz, nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Amy Jonap Wiseman and family. Known affectionately as "Woody," he will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather whose warmth, integrity, and love of family leave an enduring mark on all who knew him.
